MoyMoy feat. Courtney Bennett - Don't Know Me

With the help of Courtney Bennett, MoyMoy talks about the way in which mandem chirpse girls nowadays, stating ''I'm pretty sure that you don't know me''. This tune has a good vibe, and we're liking MoyMoy's lyrical abilities in the track, a 'new' artist to us and we're very excited at what else she'll go on to do. Also a big shoutout to Courtney Bennett, who as usual murderss her verse with a mixture of bars and singing. Jheeze! This is gonna be on repeat for a while...

Benny Banks - F64 [S3.EP27]

When SB announced that F64 Series 3 was on the way we knew that Benny Banks had to be on list of anticipated artists to be on the series.  27 videos in and Benny Banks finally steps up and spits firee on his SB.TV F64. With his trademark laidback and chilled lyricism, Banks makes spitting 'aarrdd bars look easy. Also known for his personal and hard hitting lyrics ''Pops died so my step-poppa was a Rasta, jerk chicken, peppers, steak, rice pea's, pasta, chubby white yout with a bit of black swagga, mummy in the slammer so I had to live at Grandma's''  this F64 really has the North London artist doing what he does best. This has to be top 10 in this series of F64. What do you think?

Grimeyy TV: Poet - 5 Things I Hate About BBM

With cameo's from Vujanic (Bricka Bricka!) A Squeezy, Ralph Hardy, and D Kartier, Poet's newest video will have you all cracking up, mainly 'cos they're all true. Going inn about BBM 'Predators' (we all have a few of them on our BB), nonsense BC's (DPMO Fam!), the way everyone with a BB is anti-social, the baitness of Screen Munches and people that take hours to reply even though it says 'r' (again, DPMO!) This is a must watch!

Ash Catch'em - Can't Stop Me

Jheeze! Ash Catch'em goes innn with 'Can't Stop Me'. Spitting on a overlyy grimeyy instrumental, The Trapstar lyricist shows he's coming up in the scene, with 'ard bars and wordplay ''Elizabeth Minaj, with no Nicki''. End of the day, Ash Catch'em is an artist to watch. Like what your hearing? Then go over to his website www.ashcatchem.com and download his 3 (yep, he has THREE mixtapes!) or atleast give his latest one a go, 'Baileys And Blunts'.

Lex - Come Out And See Remix

As you know we 'ere at Cor' Grimey love finding a new artist (and if you didn't know get to know fam!) and upcoming artist Lex proves just why with his 'ard remix of De La Ghetto and Movado's tune 'Come Out And See' on Rap City TV. With a combination of 'ardd punchlines "But in the future, me and my dawgs will have to 'Link Up' Behind Bars" and sick flow Lex spits some truth written lyrics revolving around success, life on the streets and the issues within the music industry (fake artists watch out!) and all behind a mad instrumental. End of the day Lex definitely stands out as one to watch for and we're looking forward for what he drops next!

ScruFizzer - Warm Up Sessions

It's been awhile since we've heard from ScruFizzer but when he spits, he never fails to disappoint and that is most definitely evident with his muadd new Warm Up Session for SB.TV. ScruFizzer goes inn with his trademark flow destroying the 'ardd fast tempo instrumental that has got us thoroughly gassed. Now we 'ere at Cor' Grimey do suggest if you want to hear every bar you may want to repeat this at least once...or twice, (or ten times) but if your like us you'd just be blown away by his sheer lyricism and know that he's a lyrical force to be reckoned with. Will 2012 be Scrufizzer's year? We hope so.

Gemini's Freestyle Firee!

Gemini goes inn spitting firee throughout his sick freestyle for MC.TV. We 'ere at Cor' Grimey don't know whether it's either Gemini's mad flow that absolutely makes the freestyle what it is or his 'ardd bars but either way Gemini has shown he's an artist to be reckoned with and we can't wait for what he does next!

Family Tree - Boom Remix

GRIMEY REFIX: Tension & A.P - Dont F*ck With Me [Dreams Money Can Buy]

'Ere at Cor' Grimey we've seen a whole load of Grimeyy refixess when it comes to Drake's 'Dreams Money Can Buy' but when we heard Tension and A.P's version we had to share it with you lot. The upcoming lyricists both show real potential over the famed instrumental especially Tension who kicks it off with the first verse ''I'm always tryna keep my head straight, all they see is a blue suit with a red cape. Thinking that I'm Superman 'cos of the superhuman things I do for man''. End of the day, this is a overly 'aarrdd take on 'Dreams Money Can Buy' and we'll be looking out for both artists in the future.

Mash Moeef - Hot Rap Freestyle

Mash Moeef brings some firee to S-Star TV with his hot rap freestyle. The south London artist's grimeyy flow and truthful bars makes this an 'arrddd freestyling session for any Grime fan to get gassed to. We'll be sure to watching out for what he does next!

Stormzy - Jacked In

We first heard Stormzy with his siccckkk verse over Drakes 'The Motto' with Fret Deezy and Weaz. Well he's back, this time with some live bars for J Star Entertainment entitled 'Jacked In'. Stormzy's story telling lyricism and hard-hitting bars go innn right from the start ''Let me rap a verse to you, forget about the greaze, forget about the money talk, forget about the pea's'' with his definitions of 'neeks' and 'gangsters' also depicting the realness in his lyrics ''the gangsters they don't really have to speak, and neeks ain't saying much, they'll just say it in a tweet''. Upcoming artist Dusty returns with 'ardd track 'Adrenalin Rush' from his début mixtape 'StarBound Volume 1'. The track has London based artist going inn over an 'ardd instrumental demonstrating the same sick lyricism that saw him reaching the final of 'That's a Wrap Show' Cypher competition. With tracks like this on the mixtape we cannot wait for StarBound Volume 1 to drop!

Tuesday 24 January 2012

GRIMEY REFIX: Joe Black, Young Mad B, Yung Meth, Fekky - Stay Schemin UK G-MIX (Stay Greazy)

It seems like Rick Ross, Drake and French Montana's hit track 'Stay Schemin' has become the new 'Otis' in the UK music scene with alot of artists jumping on the track's 'ardd instrumental. Now Joe Black, Young Mad B, Yung Meth and Fekky and jumping on the Drake/Rick Ross/French Montana wave with their 'ardd grimeyy 'G-Mix' with 'Stay Greazy'.

All the artists spit firee over the track's instrumental while still incorporating the lyrics from the original into the track alongside Young Mad B on the hook. Especially Joe Black "Back in the day if it was beef, we clip up and shoot sh*t, nowadays n*ggers beef just to push their music" and Yung Meth who remixes Drake's bar "Bitch you weren't with me shooting in the gym, by that you wasn't with me pushing in the pen". Jheez! Once again living proof that UK artists go just as hard as the overseas counterparts.

Kilo Tips - Bitch I Don't Care

Jheeze! This instrumental brings back MEMORIES. Upcoming MC Kilo Tips does his grimeyy ting over Obie Trice's (remember him? Eminem's friend?) 'Got Some Teeth' instrumental. This is the first time we've heard of Kilo Tips, but we'll definetly be keeping an eye (and an ear) out for him in the future.

''HATE ME BITE ME BITCH I DON'T CARE!''

PRETTY LITTLE LIGHTIE BUT I CAN GET DARK! You know you got gassed off this one when it first came out. Mz. Nico Lindsay feat. Kwam, Obese, Darkos - Is That What He Did

We 'ere at Cor' Grimey are gassed once again, this time thanks to Nico Lindsay, Kwam, Obese and Darkos who have collaborated to make 'Is That What He Did' on S-Star TV. Every artist destroy the grimeyy instrumental which can get a grime fan gassed alone, especially Nico Lindsay, who gained much recognition from his warm up session on SB.TV. While Nico demonstrates his sick lyricism yet again, Darkos is also one to watch with his comedic bars that really make the track. Check it out!

GRIMEY REFIX: Josh Osho & Fem Fel - Ready Or Not

We're only 2 weeks into Josh Osho's 'Take Two' but we already can't get enough! This guy has some serious talent! In this second installment, Osho teams up with Fem Fel for a sicckk performance of The Fugees 'Ready Or Not' mashed up with abit of Mario Winans (remember him?) 'I Don't Wanna Know'. GRIMEY REFIX: DVS - Hometown

DVS returns with a heartfelt homage to his home town of Brixton with his grimeyy remix of Adele's track of the same name with 'Hometown' from his 'ard mixtape 'One In A Billion'. The track has the south London rapper going deep with personal bars about life on the streets of Brixton which just showcases a quality DVS has that not a lot of rappers in the Grime scene have that is 'versatility'. Which is a quality that has us 'ere at Cor' Grimey seeing DVS moving up in the music scene with.

Though at the begining of the year there has been much talk about DVS, we 'ere at Cor' Grimey believe it's all about the music fam! And we think that 2012 is going to be a good year for the artist.

Friday 20 January 2012

TK - Fire In The Booth

We said we couldn't wait for what TK brings out next and now he returns and does not fail to disappoint with his overly 'arddd spitting session for Charlie Sloth's Fire In The Booth on Radio 1Xtra. TK definitely 'spits firee' over the medley of instrumentals, with his deep lyrics making it a more darker and personal 'Fire In The Booth' that just shows what makes him stand out in the Grime scene "I swear I'm trying to change like I'm trying to convert but I'm getting dragged down it's like I'm living a curse".

End of the day there is no doubting the passion TK has in bars and we 'ere at Cor' Grimey see great things for this passionate artist. Check it out!

Lyrisist #LOCK'D UP [EP.6]

You can tell a lot about an artist is by their name, and Lyrisist is certainly living proof of this with his 'ardd #LOCK'D UP session for KODH TV. The Sheffield based artist goes inn showcasing his sickk 'lyricism' (see what we did  there?) which definitely shines through and destroys every instrumental in the medley based soundtrack. With combination of sick lyricism and personal bars it's clear to say Lyrisist is a fitting name for the upcoming artist.

Thursday 19 January 2012

Brewer - Questions

Every now and again we 'ere at Cor' Grimey find a completely new and fresh artist we had never heard of before. This was exactly the case when we came across London bred lyricist Brewer. With a mixtape out (download link below) and several 'aarrdd tracks (check out his grimeyy refix of Mac Miller's 'Nikes On My Feet' and 'Any Time Soon' Brewer is a name you need to remember. 'Questions' is a simplistic and laidback track with visuals perfect for it. We're gonna go to the tattoo shop and tattoo his name onto our eyelids, he's that GOOD (okay maybe we were exaggerating)

Download 'Alone With My Thoughts' here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/5fk3z4

GRIMEY REFIX: Sneakbo - Oliver Twist

You may also know the song from Estelle's (yep, she's still around) recently released versiom of it. South London rapper Sneakbo has been quiet lately but has most definitely made his presence known again with the release of 'Oliver Twist'. Could this change up of style be exactly what Sneakbo needs to make 2012 his year?

Odotsheaman - 2012 Statement

Odotsheaman starts 2012 with a bang, in the form of his newest release '2012 Statement'. Going inn over Roscoe Dash's 'Good Good Night' instrumental the South London lyricist shows he's still on fine form, gassing us up with his bars ''Yeah I'm all about my chips, nuttin' like a burger shop, selling my mixtape is the the only time I'll serve a shot''. With a 'ardd instrumental, even 'aarrdder bars and 'aardd visuals, '2012 Statement' is one for the replay.

Yung Meth - [Madness] Freestyle

Yung Meth spits firee with his [Madness] freestyle for Rap City TV. The south east London rapper delivers a short but sweet spitting session lasting only one minute but the rapper's 'ardd delivery and bars makes it worthwhile "you're girls like the coyote from road runner, your traps never work". Another thing that had to be noted in this freestyle is the 'madness' of an instrumental used in the background (see what we did there?) produced by Skippz Productions that complements Yung Meth's grimeyy lyrics.

Download Yung Meth's latest mixtape 'Ouch' here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1a4ptf

GRIMEY REFIX: Sloozie - Think First

*Wretch 32 voice* Ahh Yeahh! Sloozie shows all them other artists how its done with her grimeyy take on Eminem's 'Mockingbird' instrumental. With a positive message ''I ain't preaching, I'm asking you to think first'' and an amazing sample of Lauryn Hill's 'Killing Me Softly' on the chorus this is definetely a song for the replay button. End of the day we love Sloozie's creativity, bars and vocal ability and cant wait to see what she will do next.

GRIMEY REFIX: Young RV, Dice, Supa Capone & Impact - Stay Squeezin

Big up to all those involved in making this happen.

Tuesday 17 January 2012

Subzero's Freestyle Firee!

Subzero returns with his 'ardd freestyle for JDZ media. The Grime MC goes inn with a flurry of punchlines throughout, "But this game is more unpredictable than f*cking tourettes". End of the day Blittz has shown to be an 'ardd lyricist in the Grime scene, I think we counted around 40 punchlines? So were we right?

Stooshe feat. Travie McCoy - Love Me

Urm was there not already a video for this one before? *bbm confused face* Anyways, apart from that, this is a good look for our favourite grimeyy girlband. Travie McCoy makes a welcome replacement, you lot know we're all about UK artists getting airplay but the white dude that used to be on the track really wasn't cutting it, and Travie definitely adds more energy to the track. The visuals and some lyrics have changed (theres no more ''pusssyyhooollleeessss'') signifying this is probably Stooshe's attempt at getting charted. End of the day, the more of Stooshe we see, the merrier. Keep doing your things girls, we can smell the next big girlband.

This is one for the replay.

Saturday 14 January 2012

We have to wait aaallll the way 'til 21th February to hear the whole song (again, DPMO) but from what we've heard already it's gonna be a BANGER. Paigey Cakey doesn't play around when it comes to music, she delivers every time.

Ratlin - Heart On The Line

Ratlin speaks from the heart with the deep 'Heart On The Line'. Speaking of the death of his brother, Ratlin uses his storytelling lyricism in a way that really reaches out to whoever is listening ''Real love so your tattooed on my body, I'm always at your grave, going there is my hobby''. We all know what loss feels like, and Ratlin explains it perfectly with 'Heart On The Line'.

Nneka - Be Inspired

The first time we heard of Nneka was on the Ms. Dynamite featured 'Sleep' (which is 'aarrddd!) and from then on we knew this girl had some serious talent. Not worried with following the set path of singers, Nneka does her own thing with 'Be Inspired' for Dropout Live. With a beautiful voice and passionate lyrics, Nneka is a certified grimeyy singer (*wretch 32 voice* ahh yeaahh!). Also a big shoutout to Dropout live for the outstanding talent they get each time.

Lullaby catches us with a catchy hook ''They don't make 'em like this anymore, nothing like this anymore'' and he's right, this is a different take on rap/grime and we love it! The instrumental is 'aarrddd, Lullaby's flow is 'aarrddd and the chorus is 'aarrdd. Need we say more?

GRIMEY REFIX: Ghetts feat. Mercston - Red Pill

That angry, aggressive and overly grimeyy flow that Ghetts possesses is again put to use on the 'aaarrddd 'Red Pill' featuring Mercston. As soon as we heard the 'Tatts On My Arm' refix from Ghetts previously released FREE mixtape 'Momentum' we were hooked on it and knew it would be a banger. Well what can we say? Ghetts has been on fiirrrreee since the release of 'Momentum', not forgetting Mercston who 'murks' (see what we did there?) his section. This is a 'pill' we'd take any day.

Cee Major - Scene Smasher

Cee Major continues to show he's one to watch with this 'Scene Smasher' for P110. Still spitting the fire we saw in his Daily Duppy for Grime Daily North a while back, Cee Major tells a story with his hip-hop flow with a grimeyy edge. And to the people talking about appearance? Talent is talent, and Cee Major is one very talented rapper.

''Cos I look to the sky and my eyes dont function when the lights bright, false reality I'm sleeping with a night light''

Manga feat. Brazen, Discarda, Riko, Breeze & Flowdan - No MC

Jheeze! IT'S A GRIME TINNNGG! Manga goes 'aarrddd on 'No MC' with the help of Brazen, Discarda, Riko, Breeze and Flowdan. The South London Roll Deep recruit has us 'ere at Cor' Grimey going MAADD with his newest collaboration. With a grimeyy instrumental and fast paced, aggressive bars from all involved, this is one for the replay!

GRIMEY REFIX: Rae - Unthinkable

Rae talks relationships with his grimeyy take on Alicia Keys 'Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)' in 'Unthinkable' for Jstar Entertainment. The track has Rae spitting deeply about a difficult relationship, with his 'ard bars portraying his emotions and relationship nicely behind the Alicia Keys instrumental "because when a heart breaks, it doesn't break even". We have to give a big shoutout to Jstar Entertainment for the 'ard visuals which perfectly fit in with the track. We 'ere at Cor' Grimey think this is definitely worth a watch. Check it out!

Yemz (Y.O) - Whatever It Takes

Up and coming artist Yemz goes inn with the deep and insightful 'Whatever It Takes'. The rapper/graphic designer for his design business Y.O Designs (a man of many talents) spits some personal, truth written lyrics about life on the streets, the music scene and society. The thing we love about this track is the soulful instrumental that highlights the east London artist's underlying ambition in his bars. End of the day we've got high hopes for this highly ambitious artist.

Ice Kid - Live Once

Since his return last November 'Comeback Ice Kid' (see what we did there?) has shown that nothing has changed since his break, he is still a force to be reckoned with in the UK music scene with sick tracks like 'Marijuana' and his 'ard warm up session for SB.TV. This time Ice Kid goes inn with the insightful 'Live Once'. The track has the artist going inn with the hard hitting lyricism he is known for, alongside a catchy chorus sang by the artist himself (what grime artists do you know that sing on their chorus aswell?!).

The one thing about this track that must be noted is the creative visuals. Ice tells a story that emphasises the underlying message in the track that 'You only live once' and does it in a hard-hitting manner.  End of the day this track is a breath of fresh air in the Grime scene, with Ice Kid standing out as one to watch this year.

GRIMEY REFIX: Yungen, Konan & Krept - The Motto (Play Dirty)

Happy New Year fellow grime fans and what greater way to start off the new year than with a grimeyy refix from none over then the lyrical geniuses that are Krept and Konan.

The punchline pulling duo who made waves worldwide last year with that grimeyy take on Kanye West and Jay-Z's 'Otis' which spawned 4 million views, return alongside fellow Play Dirty member Yungen with another grimeyy remix. This time refixing Drake, Lil' Wayne and Tyga's 'The Motto', we believe this could become another 'Otis' for the music group.

Krept and Konan go inn once again with their 'ardd punchlines "Phone me on 'O2' and wonder why I'm [air]ing" and newcomer Yungen demonstrates his sick lyricism. So how does this fare out of all the grimeyy 'The Motto' remixes out there? This is definitely on the top of our list.
